We provide free education to underprivileged children in the Sinkor area of Monrovia, Liberia. The school was established by a group of concerned Sinkor residents who came together to form the Foundation for Charity and Development. We started with just seven children in 2009 and now provide free education to 100 students. Our hope is that the school will, in a small way, contribute to a stable and peaceful future for Liberia.

Earlier this year a storm hit the learning center and blew off the roof of the building. After incredible support from the local community around the school and international friends – in September we were finally able to put a new roof on the school and classes have now resumed as normal, safe in the knowledge that there will be no further rain disruptions.

Thank you to all of our  supporters who made it possible

Local Heroes

Parents and the local community has shown their support for Fleur’s School in this time of need. Together they have raised $170 towards the cost of putting a new roof on the school building.

We know that all the parents struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis, so thank you for digging deep to raise this money!

A chance for young people, a chance for Liberia

Through Fleur’s School, the Foundation for Charity and Development is giving children the chance of a better future. Take, for example, the story of Emmanuel. He lives with his grandfather. After school he goes to different houses in his neighbourhood to seek small jobs (washing dishes, cutting grass and so on). In payment for this work he gets food or a little cash which he shares with his grandfather. He likes drawing and sketching and with the education he is receiving at the school, he wants to go on to become an architect.
